This map is one of hundreds acquired from a private collection that was previously purchased in 2002 from The Imperial War Museum. Each was held in the museum's duplicate archives and deemed surplus. Many have IWM reference stamps, with significant numbers never even having been folded. As such, some of these original WW1 maps are in 'time capsule' condition, and there are numerous 'Secret' or 'Confidential' maps relating to major battles amongst them.
