This was was an organization for veterans of the American Civil War. Unusual Feature: WWI Era Publisher's Logo. This postcard has a printed decorative design on the back, printed over the original words "New York Berlin, Printed in Germany," under the International Art Publishing Co. logo. Series 4397 postcards do not all have this overprinting. This American publisher apparently modified existing stock at the beginning of World War I, when there was intense public sentiment against Germany in the USA, UK and France (Seller's theory, no documentation found about this logo.)Artist: Ellen H.
