Description: Original family ownership offering – a beautiful, vintage (1940’s), handmade “Genuine Cedar-Master” double door, solid red cedar gun cabinet / armoire / wardrobe closet (Piece # 4520) by Jasper Cedar Company (Philadelphia, PA). CONDITION: VERY GOOD. This farmhouse/country style gun cabinet / armoire features a molded, shaped cornice over a pair of cedar-planked cabinet doors with black finished metal hardware. The original lock, keyhole escutcheon and key are included and are in perfect working, locking condition. The cabinet doors open to reveal a full length, single storage space with a removable wood pole for hanging clothes. The cabinet rests on bracket feet. It is marked “Genuine Cedar-Master” on the interior right side door. The cabinet has a twelve (12) gun and/or six (6) long gun capacity. The cabinet’s construction remains tight and sturdy in its original, unaltered condition. The cedar front and sides are intact. They have retained their original bright, rich, red cedar finish with minimal, minor marks. There is no chipping, fading, discoloration or staining on their surfaces. The top piece is intact and very clean. The wood backing side is in very good condition. There is a 9” vertical x 1.25” wide missing veneer split/gap section on the back’s lower left side (see photos). The cabinet’s interior is pristine with no stains, marks, scratches or discolorations. Purchased in the late 1940’s by owner’s father from H & A Woodcraft, Bronx, NY (See photograph of Jasper Cedar Company shipping label w/Piece# 4520 shown.) Overall Dimensions - Height: 65.5”; Width: 31”; Depth: 21”; Inside Cabinet Height: 56”; Established in 1804, the Philadephia-based Jasper Cedar / Cabinet Company was a certified, top producer cabinet maker of secretaries, curio cabinets, entertainment furniture, gun cabinets and accent chests.
