Description: Beautiful, vibrant, near perfect hand stitched quilt. Red, & multicolored with plain ivory backing. Lovingly madenear or before 1942. It was later given as a wedding gift to my personal friend & teaching mentor from Hazard, KY, who passed away in Fl about 2003 at 93 yrs old. Quilt is all hand made. Measures 85 72. Shown here (for pics only) & covers top of xlargesplit king adjustable bed. Perfect fit would be a Queen but great on a king with a skirt to better cover sides Pattern is reminiscent of 1930's as shown in antique quilt books. Quilt has an extensive personal history making it near museum quality. I have a picture of the lady who made it with my friend at her side. Picture will be included in this sale. (Names not posted for privacy.) Quilt has been carefully stored & not used since 2004 when it was on a guest bedroom bed for about 1 year but never used as a blanket. This quilt was always treated as priceless. Amazing color preservation due to careful storage & almost no use. Very tiny area of yellowing on backing only where quilt was folded. Two areas where pin sized discolored dots & some stitching tie-offs also show on the back.(see pics) amazing stitching. Did not wash it or attempt spot cleaning due to its age. Looks fabulous as is. Gorgeous for Christmas display due to beautiful vibrant colors!! You will love this!! Must sell because I'm downsizing.
