The Popeye and Superman are the only two boxes to be produced by three different manufactures. This very rare R-6 kit was beautifully co-designed by freelancer Charlie Brown and Wally Wood from EC Comics and MAD Magazine (also designed Supercar and Fireball XL-5 lunchkits for KST). This lunchkit represents the 2nd in line for Popeye (the 1st by Universal in 1962 and the 3rd coming from Aladdin in 1980). Think KST outdid Universal in use of characters and colors on this one however, depicting how Brutus loses again to Popeye in the ongoing battle for sweet Olive Oyl's love.
