Description: Vintage mid-century modern 1952-54 Lightolier USA tripod table / desk lamp. Designed by Gerald Thurston. "(...) This lamp is perhaps Thurston's most famous and sought after work. Comprised of solid brass and walnut posts, finished with 3 dome shades, a shape that Gino Sarfatti used on his lamps for Arteluce and Knoll, and who may have been an influence to Thurston during his own tenure at Lightolier. (...)" It takes six E12 light bulbs (included). Measurements Width 45cm Height 49cm Cable length 200cm Condition • In good vintage condition overall; • Cleaned, polished and restored; • All original components, except plug (changed to European type); • The shades have been stripped and powder coated; • The metal elements underneath the shades have been resprayed with enamel paint; • The white plastic feet have some damage and stains (see photos); • Wiring thoroughly checked; • It might also have superficial scuffs, consistent with age and use.
