Vintage John Gould - Leadbeater's Cockatoo Birds Lithograph Style Print Framed

Description: Up for sale is a John Gould color lithograph print publish in London in 1948, which is called: Leadbeater's Cockatoo (Cacatua Leadbeateri). The Major Mitchell's cockatoo, also known as Leadbeater's or the pink cockatoo, is a medium-sized cockatoo that inhabits arid and semi-arid inland areas of Australia. The artist was John Gould FRS (14 September 1804 – 3 February 1881) was an English ornithologist and bird artist. He published a number of monographs on birds, illustrated by plates that he produced with the assistance of his wife. He has been considered the father of bird study in Australia and the Gould League in Australia is named after him. This is pre-owned and is fully matted and framed behind glass. This comes from an Estate. There is some wear on the frame. The frame measures 13 ½ inches tall by 10 ½ inches. There is a string wire attached on the back for easy hanging. The print colors are still bright and vibrant. This print appears to be a fine example of the lithograph printers art.
