Vintage 70’s Yamaha SG1500 Japan 1978 with case MIJ SG-1500

Description: Production date on this instrument would be in 1978, import date was likely late 1979 or maybe even early 1980 but this is one of the earliest examples of the less seen SG-1500. I’ve had this guitar for well over 2 decades and it came to me only partially complete. What I understand to be original is the body/neck no repairs generally in good shape with some small signs of play/wear but the frets are good neck is straight action is unreal low and fast, no repairs or breaks or anything major see pics. The tuners were on when I got this and they are of the era of import late 70’s 80’s but not the original Yamaha branded tuners, knobs and pointers were on the guitar seem to be original, switch seems to be original, switch cover original. Bridge and tail piece are original although not to this particular guitar, they were missing when I got this so I bought replacements from this year, 3 of the saddle screws are not original on the bridge. I believe the bridge pickup is original as it was in the guitar, the neck pickup was from a similar era early 80’s Japanese lawsuit era guitar I believe maybe an Ibanez? I’m not totally sure it was a pickup I had saved for quite a while and knew it was Japan and around the same year so I installed it at the time. I have the pots that came with this and I will include them, although some were failing and at least one looks to have been replaced so I used some new alpha pots and reused the original caps along with push back vintage cloth wiring and simply rewired so the instrument would properly function. I also had to make a control cavity plate as there were no readily available replacements. Case is original. This guitar is an amazing machine, well built, a tone monster, a delight to play. I am pricing this with everything above in mind.
