Description: This listing is for the antique Eastlake type frame that you see in the photos. I purchased it at an estate sale in Oregon where I was not told it's history. I believe that it is from the last half of the 19th century. It comes with the original Victor Valery etching that you see in the photos. The etching was in the frame when I purchased it. The frame measures close to 15 1/8 by 13 3/8 by 3 inches (including the part on the back that holds glass and frame). The opening at the back of the frame measures close to 10 1/8 by 8 1/8 inches. The frame weighs close to 3 pounds 9.4 ounces. The print is behind glass. I temporarily removed the print from the frame and took photos of the print. The print will be back in the frame when you receive it. As you can see, the sides of the print were folded for it to fit in the frame. Some of the left and right edges of the print are not showing when it is in the frame. The paper looks and feels relatively thicik. I am guessing that the hand colored etching is original. I leave it to the buyer to decide whether or not it is. I believe that much of the value of this item lies with the frame. The condition is much like you see in the photos. The etching has the folds that you see in the photos. Otherwise, it is fine. As you can see, it is not positioned completely in line with the opening of the frame so that it looks a little tilted. refolding the edges could fix that. The back of the frame shows wear as one would expect for its age. There is a little recent damage where the back of the frame is not dark. The finished part of the frame is in very good condition with a small cluster of light scratches that you can see in a close-up and very few other light scratches elsewhere. I have not tried using scratch-coat on it. There might be some missing gold on the second line (from the opening) of trim. You can see what I mean in a close-up photo. The frame might benefit from a light cleaning. Otherwise, print and frame are as shown. Some research tells me that the title is probably, "Quai Conte Paris". Victor Valery, also known as Victor Valery Lochelongue, was a prominent French artist born in 1870 and active until his death in 1930. He is best known for his etchings, particularly those depicting scenes of Paris, capturing the city's charm and vibrancy during the early 20th century. I guarantee this item to be as described and represented by the photos. The photos are part of the description. Please look at all of them. I allow three business days for shipping, but I usually ship the same or next day if possible. Please note that the lighting in my photos is uneven, and there might be shadows or reflections. The colors on my monitor look close to but not exactly like the actual colors; different monitors may show different colors. I often say that an item measures or weighs "approximately" because no measurements are exact, and some things are difficult to measure.I like to leave feedback after I know that the item has arrived and that the buyer is satisfied. I reserve the right to cancel any bids without explanation. I sometimes purchase signature delivery for my more valuable packages because of the possibility of them being stolen off of a porch or damaged by weather. I often, but not always, ship the same or next day. Often, I have a double-walled box custom made for larger items, which might result in a short delay. When I use packing peanuts, they are usually made from biodegradable materials. Please email me with any questions or suggestions. I do not ship on weekends, and I might not be available to answer emails on weekends. Thanks for looking at my ad.
