Description: For your consideration is a stoneware jug, with a capacity of two gallons. The top portion is a shade of brown with darker streaks. The bottom portion is a shade of white. The top portion is made in one mold and the bottom portion is made in another mold. Where the two parts join coincides with where the color changes. This jug is not marked and I'm not expert enough to correctly ID the manufacturer. Several companies made jugs similar to this 1900-1940.The opening is approximately 11 1/4" above the surface it is on. The top of the curvature of the handle is slightly above the opening. The bottom has a diameter of approximately 9 1/4".This jug is an old item that was used. On one side and near the bottom edge is a very tight hairline that is less than 1 1/2 inches long. On the other side and on the bottom edge, is a small chip. Near the front of the bottom edge. All over the jug are manufacturing imperfections. Please, carefully examine the pictures, as the pictures are part of the description. Whenever it is practical, I will combine shipping. Local pickup is encouraged and is free. For bookkeeping purposes, this is lot DGW-964.
