Description: M I S C E L L A N E O U S RAILROAD COMPANY TA-R2Bx Truck Adapter kit to equip a IHC 85ft (1920’s) Heavy-Weight Pullman to install Walthers 3-axle Trucks & Kadee #451 Couplers This kit is different from the Rivarossi Heavy-Weight (1920’s) Pullman ( TA-R1Fx ) due to the diaphragms on the IHC car. KIT Contains 10 pieces: 2ea R2 Truck Adapters 2ea S4TP06SB screws to retain trucks 2ea “B” coupler pads 4ea WT Terminals for connecting wires to the Walthers’ trucks for lighting. This kit is intended for experienced modelers. Installation involves drilling and tapping. Needed are a #43 drill bit and a #4-40 tap: a #50 or 51 drill bit and a #2-26 tap. When dealing with plastics, tap the holes about 50-60% so the screws bind at the bottom and do not come loose. (There is no universal TA kit for the Rivarossi cars because of variations in the chassis/body molds. Only the 1940’s Corrugated Side cars have any interchangeability because the chassis’ are standardized.) After the gluing the TA and coupler pad to the car and the adhesive is cured, drill through the TA and the car floor and through the “B’ coupler pad and car floor. Tap as per the instructions. Use the supplied #4-40 screws to attach the trucks. Be sure the trucks can wobble! When attaching the Kadee #451 coupler, tighten the #2-56 screw, but be sure that the coupler can still swing.
