Description: I have come across a very rare find. A number of unglazed pieces: miniature boots, cats, bean pots and a rare telephone insulator, made by The American Marble and Toy Manufacturing Company. The American Marble and Toy Manufacturing Company was founded in Akron in 1891. It became the largest toy company to operate in the U.S. during the 19th century. At this time it employed approximately 350 people. Besides marbles, it produced miniature replicas of jugs, pots, boots, shoes, and cats and dogs –items children were familiar with in their everyday lives. Most importantly, the company made a three-dimensional Blue Santa in the late 1880s, the oldest of its kind in the world today. In 1904, the business burned down. In this lot I am offering a set of five miniature Boston Bean Pots. Each pot was hand made and the dimensions vary, but are approximately 2.5" in diameter by 1.875" tall. As you can see in the photos they are in their original fired state, and without glaze. I have a total of 30 of these pots and am selling them in lots of 5. FREE SHIPPING IN THE USA!
