Description: RARE MATCHED PAIR LARGE SPACE NEEDLE GERALD THURSTON LIGHTOLIER ATOMIC MODERN BRASS PARABOLIC TABLE LAMPS 1962 SUBLIME DESIGN: A rare and highly unusual matched pair of Modern Atomic Space Age Brass tripod table lamps designed by Gerald Thurston for Lightolier lighting designs circa 1962. This rarely seen design is one of the more unusual of Thurston's creations from early 60's with its undisputable pop culture reference to the iconic Seattle Space Needle from the 1962 Worlds Fair. The parts are manufactured of enameled formed Aluminum & polished Brass trim with a cast metal base and are all extremely well machined and manufactured. You probably can't even find an example of one of these on the internet much a less a matched pair for sale, added that these gems are in nearly perfect condition and it just does not get any better! CONDITION: These large Mid Century Modern pair of lamps are in extraordinary original condition, they appear to have been briefly, if at all, used and are practically perfect, completely intact and fully functional. Primarily off-White enameled Aluminum shrouds with polished brass hardware which exhibits almost no signs of wear and just some faint age spotting and slight patina with no damage or repair evident. The satin Black enameled bases are molded composite metal material and free of any obvious scars or dings. The Linen-like fabric shades are crafted to the specs of the original shades and virtually perfect. The 3-way sockets and power cord are original and have been inspected to be clean, safe and functional, Lightolier logo present on plug of power cords. DIMENSIONS: These large lamps general dimensions are 36" tall with an overall width of 7" to the base, the shades are 18" X 11" diameter…bulbs are NOT included.
