Description: Sovereign of the Seas Clipper Ship. wooden model. likely manufactured by Scientific. built c 1980. 26" long; 16" depth; 21" high. Plexiglass case is 26" x 17" x 21". The model is assembled complete with all details in place. Excellent condition, no discernable flaws, wear, or deterioration. Model has amazing detail as can be seen in pics. Painted green below water line and black above. Mounted on custom wood stand in wall mounted plexiglass case. Very fine condition. The Sovereign of the Seas was built by famed designer Donald McKay in 1852. The ship set a number of distance and time records during its seven year existence. It sunk in the Malacca Straits in 1859.
