Description: "SNAKE DANCER" Kachina 9" Tall Uniquely Made FromDeer Tines "Snake Dancer" is one of the many Native American Kachina favorites. I purchased "Snake Dancer" at aArt Show in New Mexico and was told by the seller that "Tadpole" was made and signed by a Navajo artist "RB" in 1991. "Snake Dancer" is made from two deer tines put together to form the arms and legs, his face is from a 1/4" slice of a antler. His head is accented with feathers. In his hands, in one he's holding a feather, in the other he's holding a yellow clay snake above his head. His hair is black yarn. He's wearing a red leather wrap with a black snake painted on it and the bottom is trimmed with a turquoise and yellow stripe. From the right side belt going down the side is red leather fringe. He has red clay moccasins . He's standing on a 6" by 3" piece of bark decorated with a few shells and pieces of turquoise. It is signed: on the bottom. "SNAKE DANCER" 1991, RB / Navajo I've had this little guy in my glass enclosed curio cabinet since 1991. NOTE: I take great pains in securely packing my fragile items so they arrive in perfect condition.
