Description: Six Years in the Malay Jungle, by Carveth Wells. 1925, Garden City Publishing, Garden City, New York. § An account of the author’s experiences as a surveyor and naturalist for the British government in pre-WWI Malaya. § Wells had many amazing adventures and saw things no westerner had seen before. § Wells became a famous explorer during the 1930s, and toward the end of his life, hosted a television program that showed his “home movies” of his adventures. § SIGNED by Wells on the flyleaf. Inscribed to former owner along with his signature doodle of an elephant. § On the back endpaper is pasted a newspaper clipping telling of a lecture Wells gave at a women’s club. The article mentions the attendance of the person to whom the book is inscribed. § Photos scattered within. § The book was originally published by Doubleday. This edition is a reprint from Garden City Books (all Garden City books were reprints), but the only date is the Doubleday copyright date of 1925. I would guess that this copy was printed in the early 1930s. § No dust jacket. The front cover is partially loose from the binding. OK reading copy. § Please examine photos, as they are part of the description of the book for sale. § Free shipping via Media Mail. § Thanks for looking! Powered by SixBit's eCommerce Solution
