"Shogun"-James Clavell-1975-Vols 1 & 2-1st Book Club Edition-With DJs

Description: Offered is the vintage two-volume set of books "Shogun", written by James Clavell and published by Atheneum in New York. The books have a 1975 copyright date and appear to be a first book club edition, with "book club edition" stated on the dust jackets. Both volumes have a gutter code of "12 S"; volume one's is on page 531 and volume two's is on the unnumbered page after 1,100 (see photos #10 & #17). The original dust jackets are included. Each book is approx. 8 1/2" x 5 3/4" and there are a total of 1.100 pages in both volumes. Both volumes are in good to very good condition. The hard covers have only light wear, the black words and designs on the fronts and spines still distinct. There is no cracking inside either the front or the back covers of either volume. The map endpapers are clean. I see no missing or torn pages and all are well-attached to the binding. They have yellowed slightly but are otherwise mostly clean. I see no writing in either book. The dust jacket of volume one has moderate wear; there are numerous short tears along the top and bottom edges, with some small bits missing, and one very small hole on the edge of the spine. Volume two's jacket is better; no holes and only a couple of very short edge tears. Both have some wrinkling and have yellowed. I have a lot of experience with vintage and antique books but am not an expert so please let me know if my description is missing information and you have additional questions.
