Description: Shimano Symetre 2500 RI for parts or repair. I picked this up and it's been used in saltwater. Got the external grit out that I was able to and oiled and greased (without breaking the reel down fully), but I'm sure it needs taken apart and cleaned to be really smooth spinning and high performing again. Here's what I came across: some light corrosion to the metal and surface oxidizing, which was largely able to be cleaned off. The bail arm doesn't snap perfectly when coming back, it improved with oil, but not where I want it, probably some grit/sand worked in there. Reel motion is ok, but sounds a little gritty and would like to see it make a few more rotations freely than it currently is. Spool assembly is in pretty good shape, 1 light ding observed. Anti reverse works nicely, but lever takes a little effort to flip between on and off. That being said, it appears with a good breakdown and cleaning, this thing should be back on top of its game, but I don't have the skill or time.
