Description: 2 tie dye kits in one. Note: Make sure you set up a plastic covered area for dyeing, a bucket of cold water, a few gallon sized ziplock bags, a large pot, stirrer, rubber bands or string, scissors & gloves. (I also incl a free paint brush to play with!) Wear old clothes. The dye can stain many surfaces. 1) Tulip set comes w/3 bottles of powdered dye; green, blue & purple + directions. Fill btls w/ water & shake. Wash or dampen fabric to prep. Secure your design w/ rubber bands or string (or you can tie w/ color cords. A few go a long way so only mix 2-3 cords w/ the rub bands). Cvr each side of garment w/ dye. Put into ziplock bag or bkt & set for 6-8 hrs. Cut off bands & rinse w/ cold water, to remove as much dye possible b4 washing in cold water. Dry and wear. ——————- 2) Tie dye Color Cord set is an organic bunch of saturated tie dye strings; blue, red & purple. They hold a LOT of ink, make sure you wear gloves. These are no longer made so they are hard to find & these are 1 of the last kits. They retailed for over $40. There are multiple instructions and methods to try. Regular string tie use just needs warm water. You can make shapes, names & patterns with the strings. Hombre, stone washing, paint techniques; Making a dye bath using the strings: May require salt, flour, soap and tape. Many possibilities to try, but for regular string tie dye: Tie the dry garment using a max of 6-9 color cords. The areas you tie will be the most saturated. Heat water in a large pot, and just before boiling, bring to a simmer. Put the tied dry fabric into the water & simmer for 1/2 hr; occasionally turning & pushing it down so it doesn’t float & make uneven colors. Remove the pc and put in a bkt of cold water. Wait for it to cool down by adding cold water, cut the cords & keep rinsing to remove the dye b4 washing in cold water. Dry and wear. This kit can do approx 3-5 shirts. 6-7 T shirts total w/ both sets.
