Description: This set of 5 collector plates from the Alexandrinsky period of the Russian Imperial Porcelain Factory, St. Petersburg, features a stunning turquoise color and delicate bird patterns on each plate. Made from porcelain, these round plates have a diameter of 10 inches and a depth of approximately 1 3/4 inches. With origins in Russia and dating back to the Art Nouveau era (1894-1917), these antique plates are perfect for all occasions and are sure to impress any collector of decorative items. They are original pieces. These plates are a piece of Russian culture and history that would make a valuable addition to any collection. Each plate is scalloped with a gold rim and borders of lightly colored, hand painted birds in oval reserves against a turquoise backing. The paintings are separated with a gilt oak leaf garland and acorns, marked to the underside with the green imperial cypher of Nicholas II and each are dated: 1899, 1900, 1901, 1901, & 1901 The plates are in excellent condition, however, one plate, dated 1900, does have a small chip, as seen in the photos.
