Description: A Goatskin (Genuine-Morocco, not French-Morocco, which is sheepskin) copy of the Revised Standard Version of the Bible. Black cover, red under gold art-gilding on pages, and a single red ribbon marker. Double-column, paragraph-format text in 10-10.5-point font. All index tabs are present. No supplementary materials. No color accentuation for chapter numbers, verse numbers, or subject headings. Manufactured in the United States. Two defects present: a slight chip on upper-half of the spine, but leather is still attached (could probably be glued down), and a micro-chip at the bottom front of the spine. Otherwise cover is in excellent condition. Binding is strong, and pages are clean, except for an owner inscription on front end-page, and a brown old-paper stain on two pages (see photos, previous owner(s) was likely using an old, browned piece of paper as a bookmark). Notation is not present, pages are completely clean besides the two aforementioned things. Goatskin beautifully shimmers in its pebbled grain under light, and is relatively supple, without being so much that it is slippery and unwieldy in hand. Art-gilt is a lovely cherry-red, and the ribbon marker matches it in a watermelon-red. Gold gilding still shines. Spine boasts finely crafted stamped hubs and titles (except for the 'Nelson' name, which feels to just be printed on). A very exquisite production, in wonderful condition. Dimensions in inches: 5.5x1.5x8.25. 1288 Pages. Not a red-letter edition. Comes with the original box.
