Description: I dated this hammer back to approximately 1872, that makes it over 150 years old! The Y&K stands for Jonathan Yerkes & Fayette R. Plumb. I enclosed a portion of research that I did that tells some of the history, that being said this is one of the last of the Mohicans,as they say. The handle has seen better days, but could very well be the original,it has a marking at the very far end that appears to be an owners last name, but I’m not quite sure.
