Rare Antique 1891 Penny The Acrobat In Original Box Mr McGinty

Description: A very rare and small toy in a matchbook style box. It has the name Mr. McGinty across the waist. There is some sort of a weight in the tube and I guess if you have toy on an incline it will tumble over like a cartwheel. In a flat surface he just falls flat, I have not tested on an incline. It does show some wear and has loss to the end of one leg. The arms look short but I think that’s the way it was made. I only found one other example and interestingly that example was essentially two torsos put together to give the impression of faster motion perhaps. Either way a very interesting little toy.
