Description: This is a rare, metal salt & pepper set from the 1939 New York World’s Fair. This Trylon & Perishere sit in a metal base that reads “Theme Building, New York World’s Fair 1939”. The salt and pepper are heavy and that is what helps them to stay in the base. This was made by Wm Rogers Manufacturing Co. which makes a lot of silverware and other kitchen items. There are a couple of minor issues some which were probably at the point of manufacturing and another which was time and people. The Trylon has a nick on the side & the point at the top is not pointed but sort of pushed in(last 2 pictures). The other issue is the cork on the Perisphere has fallen inside. Either the cork was pushed in by someone or the cork broke down over time and fell inside(picture #10). It is still in good condition for being 85 years old. It would be a great addition to any world’s fair collection. Please look over the pictures and ask questions before bidding. The pictures are a big part of the description and I’m selling this “as-is”. We offer combine shipping discounts on multiple purchases.
