Description: GB QEII 1968 XMAS 4d SG775 set, Queen's Head Shift Variety, UMM ( SG Spec W142 & W142var) MNH The apparent shift is caused by the use of two different machines to print the 4d stamp The REMBRANDT machine was sheet fed and printed all 6 colours in one operation and resulted in the Queens head being high - level with the top of the boy's head - the normal position, The THRISSELL machine was reel fed, but could only print 5 colours so the gold queens head had to be printed in a separate operation resulting in the head being printed lower. Different plates were used on each machine. Both 4d stamps and the rest of the set included. ( ref: Error / Flaw / Variety w142)
