There are two title pages (one may be a bastard page.) First title page shows an illustration of Bunyan with a velum sheet cover. Second page presents the book as a New Edition by J.M. Hare. Cloth covered boards have what looks like an Arts and Crafts design blocked on the covers. Corners are bumped. Minor rubs on spine edges and corners. Gilt around page edges is bright with minor wear marks. Gilt on spine is bright. Light foxing found on some pages. Numerous illustrations noted. Prior owner put light pencil marking inside front end page (indicating publish date). Binding is tight. No tears, creases, missing pages, underlining or highlighting noted. See photos for condition. This is a reprint of John Bunyan's 1678 book, Pilgrim's Progress, a Christian allegory of a man's pilgrimage through life. It is regarded as one of the most significant works of religious English literature, which is still in print today. Just a really lovely cloth bound book for anyone who appreciates the beauty of antique religious allegory books!
