Description: Parker Bandless Duofold Sr PROTOTYPE in Red/Orange Celluloid with a 14K Lucky Curve Duofold Nib which I never knew existed. This pen is most likely a prototype because the Bandless Duofolds were made of red hard rubber and this one appears to be produced from reddish/orange celluloid. A couple of unusual features include the nib stamping which states, Parker Lucky Curve Duofold Pen. I've never seen this on another nib before. Also, the button filler insert is made of a black material which is not expected. They are usually part of the red hard rubber barrel instead of an insert. The size of the imprint indicates the pen may have been produced in 1923, which might make sense if it is a prototype produced to overcome the cracking and breaking of the Bandless Red Duofold caps. A leading vintage pen collector is in agreement. It is a full size DUOFOLD SR and obviously extremely rare…maybe one of a kind.
