Pair of Vintage MCM Ceramic Taper Candle Holders

Description: Offering for your consideration is this pair of Vintage White Ceramic Fry-pan Shaped Taper Candle Holders manufactured in Japan for the prestigious Marshall Field & Company department store in the 1950s. They measure about 7" long x 4.25" wide x 2" high and will accommodate a 1" diameter candle. Each candle holder is heavy enough to support up to a 16" taper candle but a shorter one looks more proportional. There is an occasional firing pop or slight peppering on the holders as occured frequently with older pottery, but they are free of stains, nicks, chips, cracks, discoloration or repair. The original plastic holly and berry candle rings remain on the holders BUT the holly leaves have become very brittle and the majority have fallen off. I have saved most of them and sprinkled them around the ring for display and will include for you, but they could be replaced easily. The foil Hallmark Labels from Marshall Field have fallen off over the past 70 years but JAPAN is incised on one and black stamped on the other. This offer is for the two candle stick holders with original plastic candle rings only. *Please note that my items are VINTAGE and most have age related wear. I am not an expert, only an admirer of the items that I remember from earlier times....Each item that I sell is at least 20 years old and some are 70+ years old which means me or someone at one point owned and loved it--so when you are bidding please remember these items are NOT NEW.
