Description: Thrifting find. Two oval Rose Fantasy platters by Homer Laughlin, circa 1938. They are white with a reddish, large-scale botanical motif. Each measures about 11" long and 8.5" wide. The pattern reminds me of Tepco restaurant ware, but these plates are somewhat lighter weight than restaurant ware and I believe were intended for home use. They're still sturdy, with a combined weight of about 3.5 pounds. These platters have a few issues. One of them has allover crazing in the glaze, though the other one does not. On both, there are a few dings in the surface, some tan stains and spots, and scuffs on the rims. There are scratches and utensil marks, and stilt marks on the backsides from the glazing and firing process. Please take a look at the photos, and let me know if you have any questions. Shipped via USPS Ground Advantage. I pack with care and lots of bubble wrap.
