Description: Native American Indian Grinding/Cooking Stone, found by me 50 years ago, used as a Grinding Pestle and a Cooking Stone, found in southern California and in a area heavily populated by large Oak Trees, weight is 1.7lbs, roughly 3 3/4" Width, 2" to 2 1/8", not the typical rough surface of a Pestle, this has indications of grinding but also shows signs of Fire, blackening the flat bottom more than the top, explained to me was when the meal was prepared and ready to be eaten, the water tight basket that the meal was put into was cooked/heated by placing this stone into the basket was being extremely heated by a fire, fits in the hand very well and smooth to the touch, I would consider this a prehistoric item, I can provide more information to the purchaser,
