Description: Large Older Tibetan Thangka Hanging White Tara with Other Deities & Figures Approx. 51" High x 31-1/2" Across Edges Look Rough, Perhaps Removed from Commonly Used Fabric Framing Tibetan Script On Back Overall Good Condition with Details Easily Seen Back Shows Some Staining, Mostly in One Corner - Does Not Show Through to Front There Are Places That Show Some Creasing Wonderful Details, Especially the Raised Gold Painting All Over I have had this thangka for close to 20 years. It has only been displayed in the last few years as I did not have an appropriate wall away from sunlight to display it. It is a Tibetan thangka with Tibetan writing on the back - I have shown photos of this to a couple Tibetan Buddhist monks who told me the writing looked to be prayers to Buddha. This thangka came from China; I do not have any other information on it. I think it is exceptional in that it depicts such a well-loved diety as White Tara, it is an unusual large size, and there are so many beautiful details. I am downsizing all my collections and would like this to go to a new & appreciative home. It is priced to sell. It will be rolled up and placed in the tube I received it in. US only.
