Description: Johnny Vander Mere made his Major League debut with the Cincinnati Reds on April 22, 1937 at the age of 22, and was later sent down to the minor leagues during the 1937 season. The following year on June 11, 1938, Vander Mere pitched a no hitter against the Boston Braves. Four days later against the Brooklyn Dodgers in what was the first night game ever held at Ebbets Field, he threw another no hitter, becoming the only player in Major League history to throw two consecutive no-hitters, a historic record that has never been tied and almost certainly will never be beaten! Vander Mere signed this photo at a Twin Cities Sports Collectors Show in Bloomington, MN. in the late 1980's. This photo will be mailed to you in a hard plastic top-loader along with a COA from Triple Crown Sports Collectibles, whose owner is a lifetime member of the Twin Cities Sports Collectors Club of Minnesota. Johnny Vander Mere's signature is guaranteed to be 100% authentic and guaranteed to pass any third party authentication. Thanks for looking, please check out my other Ebay items and my Ebay Store.
