Marked "Made in Japan."Circa 1920s Transferware, with intricately detailed design and gilt-work. Design: Courting couple. Romance is in the air as they stroll in the garden! A leafy wreath in gilt (shiny gold) surrounds them. Four clusters of gilt flowers appear along the edge, in the four directions and lovely gilt work finishes off the scalloped rim. White and cream foundation, lusterware finish. Measurement of Saucer: approximately 4.5" inches in diameter x 0.5" high. CONDITION: Pre-owned. Very good condition. One small chip under the rim (see picture), otherwise no chips or cracks, no scratches, no repairs. Minor wear to gilt. No loss of paint to the images. No odors, non-smoking environment.
