Description: This is a vintage linen postcard, postally used and postmarked 1938 from Memphis, Tennessee. Postcard features multiple views of the Hotel Claridge in Memphis, Tennessee. "The South's Smart Hotel". Pictured is an exterior view, the Cascades Roof Garden and 20th Century Ballroom. Built in 1924 at the corner of 109 North Main Street in Memphis and was the tallest building in Memphis at the time of construction. It closed in 1969. Scheduled for demolition, the building has been preserved in 1980 and in 2004 and is now the Claridge House Condominiums.
