Description: Hot Wheels Ferrari F2001 1/18 scale die-cast modelMichael Schumacher / Scuderia Ferrari Formula One The car was designed by Rory Byrne, Ignazio Lunetta, Aldo Costa, Marco Fainello, Nikolas Tombazis, and James Allison, with Ross Brawn as Technical Director and Paolo Martinelli leading the engine design. The F2001 was a single-seater with a high chassis, a concave lower section, and short, high sides. It had a "droopsnoot" nose to accommodate the FIA's new regulations for mounting the front wing higher than previous seasons. The F2001 was a very successful car, with Michael Schumacher driving it to win the 2001 Monaco Grand Prix and the F1 driver's championship. In 2001, the F2001 had 10 wins, 13 pole positions, 3 fastest laps, and 197 points, helping Ferrari win the Constructors' title three months before the end of the season. In 2002, Schumacher continued to use the F2001, taking its final win at the Australian Grand Prix before it was replaced by the F2002. The F2001b, a revised version of the F2001, was used in the first two races of 2002 and was very effective for Schumacher, helping him win his fifth World Drivers' Championship. In 2017, Schumacher's F2001 was sold at Sotheby's Contemporary Art Evening Auction in New York for $7.5 million. The car is still considered one of the most desirable modern grand prix cars and can still be used in historic racing.
