Description: Lord Byron's "Fugitive Pieces" - Rare Quarto Edition. Described by Herbert C. Roe. With a note on the Pigot Family. Printed for private circulation in 1919 by Derry & Sons, Ltd., Nottingham. Hardcover, 30 pages. In this volume, Herbert C. Roe (1873-1923) sought "to bring together such information as is known, of the very rare edition of Lord Byron's 'Fugitive Pieces' in the hope that it may be of interest and of some value, to students and collectors of Lord Byron's works." The copy contains an inserted postscript reporting on a recent development in Byronic bibliography. This copy is in nice condition. There is a bookplate inside the front cover (W. Wild, Blidworth) but it is tipped-in and seems as if it could be removed easily. The covers and spine are intact, with minor bumping of the upper corners, and a small (about 3/8") scrape in the center of the back cover. The back cover also shows some discoloration. The inside pages are bright and appear unread; there are no pen or pencil notations. Byron fans won't want to miss this one! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Our father was a bibliophile who collected rare books, letters, and ephemera for more than 60 years.
