HEITKOTTER LP/ULTRA-RARE 1971 BIZARRE PSYCH ROCK LEGEND/Stephen David Heitkotter

Description: HEITKOTTER 's/t' LP (US, Time-Lag, Catalogue #Time-Lag 052/Earmonger 001) Brand new/unplayed copy of long-awaited reissue of what has been building up over the past several years to be amongst the most absolute, most truly anticipated and talked about reissue projects of what is a now legendary private-press brain-bent psych-rock ultra-rarity (only a couple original copies of the original demo-only pressing are verified to still exist) originally recorded and issued in 1971 by an (unfortunately) lost in space/clinically insane individual named Stephen David Heitkotter, just shortly before being commited for life to a state mental asylum. A heroic, long in the works project now finally issued by Time-Lag Records (in conjunction with Earmonger Records) in an absolutely superb presentation with hand-stamped heavy-quality covers, pressed on 180 gram audiophile vinyl and packaged with an insert of liner notes (detailing the fascinating, tragic and surreal aspects/circumstances of the life and art of Stephen David Heitkotter himself and the one-in-a-million chance discovery that led to the decades long odyssey of sheer mystery and conjecture to full-fledged revititalization and lionization of his almost lost-to-oblivion artifact/final artistic testament, which now at last finally blooms like the 'black orchids' envisioned by Stephen David Heitkotter for just a potential thousand more sympathetic record collectors and fellow lost souls to experience.) STRICTLY LIMITED TO 1000 COPIES ONLY, this stunning effort by Time-Lag and Earmonger Records is not to be missed! (NOTE: ALL RECORDS ARE PACKED AND SHIPPED IN PROFESSIONAL, SUPERIOR QUALITY RECTANGULAR SHAPED, CORNER PROTECTING CORRUGATED CARDBOARD RECORD MAILERS WITH FILLER PADS. SATISFACTION GUARANTEED!) (NOTE: BRAND NEW/NON-SEALED ITEM!) (NOTE: LIMITED VINYL EDITION OF 1000 COPIES ONLY!) (NOTE: YES, THE ORIGINAL INSERT IS INCLUDED!) (NOTE: EACH COVER IS UNIQUE WITH WHERE THE STAMPED INK TEXT IS POSITIONED ON THE COVER. THE ITEM PHOTO PROVIDED ABOVE IS JUST ONE EXAMPLE AND WILL NOT NECESSARILY BE THE COPY THAT YOU RECEIVE.) 'Fully licensed legit deluxe reissue of this completely unique slab of outsider private press psychedelia. Long whispered about by the most inner circle of obsessive psych collectors, but up till now only heard only by a lucky few. A true legend for sure, and rightfully so, as the bizarre story surrounding the LP is nearly as twisted as the music itself. Ex-Road Runners drummer Stephen David Heitkotter recorded and pressed the LP in California sometime before 1971 as a demo only edition of no more than two dozen copies in blank white covers, then distributed it only to a handful of local San Joaquin radio stations before the pressing plant destroyed the masters due to non-payment. Within months of his failed attempt at radio stardom Stephen was commited to the state mental ward, and that was that... but what an album he left behind... deeply damaged outsider/real people Westcoast basement loner acid-garage-blues from a genuinely insane person, recorded at the very edge of oblivion. The sound of a last gasp at the teetering edge of the darkest void. A murky disjointed trip wobbling between acid-scorched un-reality and pure all-encompasing blankness... full electric band setting, but whether this was a purely solo endeavor or an actual band recording will remain a mystery forever. Those close to Stephen at the time swear he was already too far gone to assemble even a jam session, so the solo theory seems likely, making the musical deconstruction meltdown that much more disturbing. Semi-tight playing disintegrates into meandering sonic smear at evey turn, then somehow resolidifies and churns onward while bent deadpan vocals funnel garbled surrealisms form nowhere to nowhere. The scarily hyper-real yet ultra-weird otherworldly presence is as thick as it comes, and only enhanced by raw/crude/muffled recording fidelity... not recommended for the weak of heart... Co-released with Earmonger Records. Mastered from the best possible original copy and pressed on 180gm audiophile vinyl. Exact reproduction labels, including some wild hand embellishments from the man himself. Heavy blank white 60s style art paper covers with hand stamped title. Heavy insert with extensive liner notes. One time vinyl only limited edition of 1000 copies. No CD, no repress.' 'Intense real-people fringe LP popular among psych mafiosos, a 3-man band with guitar, bass and drums led by Stephen David Heitkotter, presumably recorded inside the mental institution where the guy has been for decades. Track titles include "Hangin' All Night", "Quaker, Dog Got Away" and the 14-minute "Fly Over The Moon". The vibe is intense and feverish like a nightmare; a unique LP that lives up to its reputation, and benefits from a surprisingly powerful, in your face recording. This may have been a test press only and comes in a blank cover, except for the handwritten title. Heitkotter was also in a garage band in the 1960s that released a few 45s.' - Patrick Lundborg/Acid Archives 'This is a truly disturbing record... so far out-there it goes beyond what could be classified as 'genius'. At times all three musicians sound like they are playing different songs and somehow you're able to groove along on three different levels. This is not for everyone, but if you've been down every 'psych' road out there and enjoyed each and every one of them, Heitkotter might be for you. I can see 20-25 people thinking this is the greatest LP ever recorded and everyone else thinking it was a piece of trash.' - Rich Haupt/Acid Archives Tracks on this LP are as follows:A1Hangin All Night4:43 A2I Don't Mind10:10 A3Quaker, Dog Got Away5:30 B1Cadillac Woman5:00 B2Fly Over The Moon13:55 Shipping rates to the following locations at this present time (note: all shipping rates are subject to change.) Satisfaction guaranteed! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- HOW WE SHIP RECORDS (AND OTHER ITEMS) TO YOU: With the exception of a few odd-sized items, ALL LPs are packaged for shipment and sent to you in PROFESSIONAL QUALITY, SUPERIOR RECTANGULAR SHAPED, CORNER-PROTECTING CORRUGATED CARDBOARD RECORD MAILERS WITH FILLER PADS. SATISFACTION GUARANTEED! We are record collectors here, too, and we pledge to package your records (or any other item) in a way in which we would like to have records/other items packaged, sent to us and received by us as well. When packaging up records that are non-factory sealed items (as is standard for many import releases) or are open "used" items for shipment, we remove the LP and inner-sleeve from the album cover and place them on the outside of the cover to protect the cover from being subjected to any potential seam-splitting during transit. When packaging up factory sealed records for shipment, we leave the item sealed, intact, as is. HOWEVER. If a customer REQUESTS that we unseal a factory sealed record to send with the LP and inner sleeve on the outside of the cover (to protect the cover from any potential seam-splitting during transit) we will do so. Please be sure to make this request of unsealing your record for shipment if that is your packaging preference. When packaging up non-factory sealed items (or factory sealed items that have been unsealed at the buyer's request) that have custom company or other manner of printed inner-sleeves, we remove the record from those printed inner sleeves (returning the printed inner sleeves back into the album cover) and place them inside brand new, generic white paper inner sleeves, which are then placed on the outside of the album cover to protect both the album cover AND the original printed inner sleeves from being subjected to any potential seam splitting during transit. We do this for all new AND used items that are in our stock. All LPs, be they new or used, are sheathed inside of new, protective plastic outer sleeves (with the exceptions of space or weight limitations that may occur with packaging your items - such exceptions will take place when they allow for a lower cost of shipping charged for your total order.) We go the extra mile to protect and preserve your items, folks! With but a few exceptions (odd size combined orders or other package configurations and considerations...) All 12" records are sent to you packaged in quality 15" x 1" x 13" rectangular shaped corrugated cardboard LP mailers. All 10" records are sent to you packaged in quality 13" x 1" x 13" square shaped corrugated cardboard LP mailers. All 7" records are sent to you packaged in quality 8" x 1" x 8" square shaped corrugated cardboard 7" record mailers. All Compact Discs are sent to you packaged in quality 7" x 1" x 5" rectangular shaped cardboard CD mailers. All Cassettes are sent to you packaged in quality 5 1/2" x 1" x 3" rectangular shaped cardboard Cassette mailers (Note: Cassettes sent to international addresses will be packaged in a larger box of some appropriate size configuration to accommodate the size and application of mailing/customs labels sent to international addresses.) All Cassettes and CDs or records that come packaged in odd-sized or odd-custom packaging are sent to you in quality corrugated cardboard boxes of various unspecified dimensions, with various sorts of interior padding (styrofoam peanuts, bubble wrap, cardboard filler pads, etc.) to protect and preserve your items. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you have any questions about any items that we have in stock or anything else, please feel free to inquire with us at any time (we are at your service and will get back to you with answers to your questions as soon as possible.) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WE ARE GRATEFUL FOR ALL OF OUR CUSTOMERS (be they first time customers or our many repeat customers) and WE GREATLY APPRECIATE YOUR PATRONAGE! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
