Description: Welcome to ANTIQUES & MOORE! This listing is for a gorgeous signed Hawkes American Brilliant Period cut glass ship's whiskey decanter in the GLADYS pattern. The decanter has a wide round body that helped stabilize the decanter when used on ships, therefore, the name ship's decanter. The decanter is decorated with the design cut around the lower body and has a matching cut stopper. The decanter has an elongated panel cut neck and shoulder with zipper cut edges and two horizontal bands cut around neck. The substantial handle is beautifully notch cut with vertical cuttings at the handles's wide base where it is attached to the decanter. Both the decanter and stopper are signed with the Hawkes acid etched trademark with "Hawkes" signed below. Measures 7 1/2" high (including stopper), 6" high (to top of handle) and is 6 1/4" in diameter (at lower body). Weighs 3.14 pounds. This nice decanter is in very good Estate condition with only a couple of minor issues. There is some faint roughness on the edge of the mouth and a sliver chip on the inside edge. This is not noticed when the stopper is in place. There is also a chip on the bottom of the stopper. This is also not noticed when the stopper is in place as the chip is mostly on the stopper's flat base. There may be a faint chip or two in the design, however, we did not find anything else wrong with this lovely decanter.
