Schoenberg, the Author to distinguished Father Lee Teufel, Head of the Journalism Department. Photos 1 and 2 show the front cover and binding. Photo # 3 shows the Title Page. Photo # 4 shows the Publishing Information. Photo # 5 shows the Table of Contents. Photos # 6 and 7 show the Introduction information. Photo # 8 shows the Signature Page, signed by the Author, Wilfred P. Schoenberg. Photo # 9 shows Gonzaga University as it was in 1889. Photo # 10 shows some of the Medals given to Gonzaga University. Photo # 11 shows the United States Victory Battleship, Gonzaga University launched in June 1945. Photo # 12 shows one of the best Baseball Teams, photo dated 1901, also shows Father James Kennelly, David Wilfred P. Schoenberg, one of Gonzaga's most famous pitchers. Photo #13 shows Father Peter DeSmet. Father Peter DeSmet was the first Jesuit in the Spokane region. Also shown is Reverend Joseph Catald, Founder of Gonzaga University and Father James Rebmann, First President First President of Gonzaga University. Photo # 14 shows Father Herman Goller, Tenth President of Gonzaga University. Father Joseph Joset, one of the most prominent of the early Jesuit Missionaries, also shown is Ensign John Robert Monaghan, United States Navy, one of Gonzaga's first students. John was in the first graduating class, that had 18 students. After graduating he attended the United State Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. He achieved fame as a naval hero in the Battle of Samoa, April 1, 1899. He gave his life for an injured companion. A Monument was made for John R Monaghan and was placed in front of the Spokane Club, you can see the Monument in the next picture. Also shown is Father Paul Arthuis, Vice-President for many years and builder of St. Aloysuis Church and Mount St. Michael's Scholasticate. Photo # 16 shows a aerial picture of Mount St. Michael's Scholasticate, taken in 1957. Photo # 17 shows the St. Aloysuis Church, which is located on the Campus. Photo # 18 shows Gonzaga Cadet Corps in 1902. The cadets are standing approximately where the Bing Crosby Library now stands. The orphanage to the east can be see in the far background. Photo # 19 shows Bing Crosby and his wife Kathryn Grant, standing before the entrance of the Crosby Library. This photograph was taken on the day the library was dedicated, November 3, 1957. Photo # 20 shows the full view of the Bing Crosby Library as it was in 1957.Bing Crosby grew up in Spokane and graduated from Gonzaga High School in 1920. Bing Crosby also attended Gonzaga University. In the early 1920's Bing was still known as Harry Lillis Crosby. A life-long supporter of Gonzaga University, Bing received an honorary degree from Gonzaga in 1937 and contributed to its library campaign in 1957. Gonzaga honored him with its highest award, the DeSmet Medal, in 1968. Father Peter DeSmet was the first Jesuit in the Spokane region. Photo # 21 shows Bing Crosby's House that he grew up in, Spokane, Washington. This picture is not in the yearbook. The house was built in 1911 and is still at its original location Bing sold the house for $3,500.00 to friends of Gonzaga University, a Mrs. Margaret Higgins and rooms were rented out to University Students. After her death, the Higgins family sold the house to the Gonzaga Alumni Association in 1980. When the Alumni Association moved across the street to the former Bishop White Seminary in 2009, ownership was transferred to Gonzaga University, Over 200 Bing Crosby items including gold records, trophies, awards, and his Oscar for Going My Way (1944) at the House or Museum. What is not on display is stored in the University Archives and Special Collections’ vault in the Foley Center Library.
