According to Chris Chatfield's "Great Britain Commemorative Labels Pre-1950" : "The British Industries Fair, organised primarily by the Board of Trade, has been held annually, usually in London and Birmingham, in most years since 1915 (but not during the years 1941-1946). Numerous labels have been issued. They are year-dated up to 1953 after which they are not. A detailed listing is given by Stirling (1985) up to 1953. The listing here draws on Stirling's work up to 1949 as well as including a few extra items."Chatfield identifies four different "Key Types" of the BIF stamps, in addition to the one-off designs. This one is listed by Chatfield as the "Key Type Key", and is identified as #b.23 (iii). This stamp is F/VF, OG, NH. The condition will be mixed, but none of the lots will be just accumulations of damaged or faulty stamps (unless specifically listed as such). A Note about Poster Stamps and Gum: Because many poster stamp collectors are primarily interested in the image on the stamp, the absence or presence of gum on the back is of little concern.
