EXTREMELY RARE Hallmark 80’s YUM YUMS Kenner Plush Hand-Sewn PROTOTYPE. OOAK

Description: This light purple Yum Yum (the first character conceived- Goody Grape Mouse -before they changed his official color) is the hand-sewn prototype that was pitched to Kenner in the late 80’s and ultimately led to the production of the Yum Yums line of toys and merchandise. This is an incredibly rare find and is the shining jewel of my collection. Because this is a hand-sewn stuffed animal, certain features like the eyes have been hand painted (if you look closely you can see the brushstrokes!) and all glitter was applied by hand. A piece of tape is holding the eyes in place as they are attached by pins instead of sewn-in like they would be in mass production. This item is a marvel of the late 80’s and a joy to contemplate the craftsmanship and love that went into this item that is responsible for an iconic toy line of the 80’s and 90’s.
