THIS IS HOW I TRY TO EARN A LIVING FOR THE PAST 28 YEARS, INCLUDING THE LAST 24 YEARS ON EBAY. That means I have to sell my items in a timely manner. If you look on eBay, you will find that the 1996 Fleer USA Basketball is an incredibly difficult item to find. Matter of act, the last time I looked--several weeks ago--I was the only person selling the item on eBay or any other site! How can that be? THE PRINT RUN FOR THIS PRODUCT WAS BREATHTAKINGLY LOW BECAUSE MICHAEL JORDAN HAD ANNOUNCED IN 1994 THAT HE DID NOT PLAN TO PLAY FOR THE 1996 US OLYMPIC TEAM. Because he didn't, Fleer essentially printed this product to order. Without Michael in the set, what percentage of dealers ordered it? My guess is LESS THAN 3%, based on conversations I had with dealers 27 years ago. I believe I ordered more of this box than anyone. My four children will each inherit 72 boxes (four cases each) of the 1996 Fleer 1996 USA Basketball. For real. However, they will not inherit one box of this version, which has a different box design and packaging than the ones I purchased 27 years ago. In fact, this is the only box like this I have seen in 15 years! So if you think the "regular" box was a short print, what about this incredibly scarce version? Although this is far rarer than the regular version, I am pricing this LOWER per pack than my other Fleer version that is currently on eBay. This box contains 36 packs, NOT 18, and five cards per pack. This is a Buy It Now listing for a factory sealed HOBBY box of the 1996 Fleer Skybox USA Basketball, which features the NBA stars who won the 1996 Olympic Gold Medal in basketball. I firmly believe that if Jordan had played for the US team in 1996, sealed boxes today would be going for more than $4,000 a box--at least! That would be true even if they had quadrupled the production run! For more than 25 years, I had never sold any of these boxes on eBay. Until 2022. Since then, I have sold more than a 25 boxes of the other version of this box on eBay. There are 52 cards in the set. The only insert is a Heroes set--one every 18 packs. In each pack, there is a 3D card, along with four other cards. Loaded with Hall of Famers like Shaq, Stockton, Malone, Pippen, Miller, and the rest of the gold medal winners of the 1996 Olympics. Again, I am selling this only box with the alternate design for the same price as the "regular" Fleer USA box. It's $168.88. Not a penny more. Not a penny less. The rules: 1) No discount.
