In this 1st year to help promote pin trading, Disney would give a trading pin for $15 purchases in the stores. Remember, pin trading was new to Disney in 2000, guests who made purchases weren’t always pin traders so it was anyone’s guess where the pins ended up. The Red D was always the most difficult to trade for as it was the first pin. By the time the second month rolled around, pin traders caught on but it was too late for those seeking the Red D. It became a very tough trade. There was also a map of the park given away to place the pins on the different areas, I have a picture added of the map, it is also included for you to frame. I have the pins placed in the order they were distributed and what month they were released in 2000.
