Meanwhile, as Abbey is hot on the trail of Donavin in a "borrowed" jeep, the Danger Girls are right behind hot on the trail of Abbey! Abbey stops Donavin and reclaims the skull but the two find themselves under attack from pirates just the Danger Girl crew swoop in to save Abbey. Abbey learns of the Danger Girl group led by Deuce and accepts his request for her to join them as a member. The Danger Girls are complete - Abbey Chase (gun expert), Natalia Kassle(knife expert), Sydney Savage (rope expert) and Silicon Valerie (electronics expert). The first mission - the thief who has been terrorizing museums and private collectors the world over. Through their contact Rico Lugosi, they investigate an ex-soviet empire weapons smuggler - "The Peach". The undercover mission to gather intel goes wrong when Abbey's cover is blown. The Danger Girl team are forced to reveal their intentions as they pursue the fleeing Russian and his men. Next in part 2, “Dangerous Liaisons”, Abbey Chase and the other Danger Girls lose The Peach as he and his goons master their escape. Abbey destroys two helicopters in the process, the last by removing the grenade pin of the sniper before falling comfortably onto the tarpaulin top of a truck Sydney Savage is driving. Picking up the trail, the Danger Girls head for Interlaken, Switzerland after hitching a ride by a kind rural french man, who we find out is Secret Agent Zero in disguise. Interlaken is a Swiss alps resort where they believe the first part of the mystic armor - the shield - is being held by The Peach. Abbey and Sydney rendezvous with girl magnet agent Johnny Barracuda, the undercover guest of a soiree attended by The Peach. Johnny, as the producer Ooter Frumpenpuff, and Abbey, as his date, make an unsubtle appearance at the party. Sydney and Natalia Kassle join as undercover waitresses and Abbey takes the opportunity to sniff around. The Peach is talking with two German twins known only as Cain and Abel Meanwhile, Johnny Barracuda runs across Kid Dynamo, who seemingly has been on the wrong end of Johnny's attention previously. Abbey, making her way upstairs in search of the shield, finds what she is looking for only to be interrupted by The Peach. Cue final panel of Abbey in bubble bath. Next in part 3, “Dangerous Curves”, Abbey Chase is enjoying a steamy bubble bath with The Peach as she tries to continue her mission to grab the shield. After knocking The Peach out cold with a champagne bottle, she suits up to escape with the shield in hand. Only, as she is about to make her escape, the two guests of The Peach, Cain and Abel, with henchmen in tow burst in all guns blazing. Abbey, barely missing the gunfire, uses the shield to sled out the mansion and down the mountain knocking out a ski-jet henchmen. Meanwhile, Johnny is in the midst of a fierce struggle with the Kid Dynamo and his sidekick Mr. Giggles. Unable to finish the job, Sydney's handy rope skills help Johnny enough for him to escape. Johnny and Abbey both head down the mountain as streams of bullets hail down from above. Henchman after henchman fail to stop the two agents as they reach further down the mountain, but they're escape is not complete as an avalanche bear down on them from behind. Too late to avoid it, Abbey and Johnny fall into an ice-covered lake in front of a deserted hut. As they gather warmth inside, the Danger Girl team track the two using their GPS locator, giving Abbey and Johnny some time to keep cozy until their arrival. Abbey and Johnny are picked up by Sydney and Natalia and receive new intel from Silicon and Deuce. While Abbey was extracting the shield, more thefts have taken place, and the team needs to move quickly. Silicon tells them of the "enchanted" Eddy Owen, a multimillionaire collector and the next most likely target. Back in England, Eddy Owen receives visitors who call themselves the "collection agency". Next in part 4, “Maximum Danger”, Major Maxim and his thugs have entered the home of the wealthy antiquity collector Eddy Owen. They demand for him to reveal the location of the "artifact", but they fail to get any information out of him. After ransacking his house and destroying priceless belongings they knock him unconscious and seemingly leave. On the Danger Yacht, Deuce has rendezvoused with the mysterious agent who helped Abbey and Sydney back in France. They exchange intel and the agent disappears, identity only known to Deuce. Meanwhile the Danger Girls and Johnny Barracuda arrive to find the house turned upside down and Eddy lying on the floor. After explaining to Eddy why they have come, Abbey and the others are led to Eddy's secret hiding spot where he keeps the artifact - a golden medieval helmet. However, upon revealing its location, Major Maxim and his underlings spring out from the shadows to ambush the Danger Girls and try to steal the helmet. Major Maxim is badly hurt, and in the ensuing fight, Natalia is shot after Maxim orders the house bulldozed. Major Maxim leaves victorious with helmet in hand. Next in part 5, “Dangerous When Wet”, A group of what appears to be Major Maxim's troops are planting bombs on the outer shell of the Danger Yacht. They steal the shield just as Deuce manages to deal some damage to a few, but he is too late. The troops speed away with their treasure and the boat is destroyed taking Deuce with it. Abbey, Silicon and Eddy cling to cliff face with Eddy's mansion having been destroyed by Major Maxim. The open sea is their only escape. After taking the plunge, Secret Agent Zero makes a timely appearance, explaining that Deuce had sent him here to rescue them. Elsewhere, Sydney and Johnny Barracuda are tied up in some unknown basement with Johnny's acquaintance Falcon. As Falcon tries to explain his part in this, the evil Doctor Kharnov Von Kripplor and his colleague Major Maxim strut and begin telling them their evils plans - Johnny and Falcon will become mindless zombies through and injection and Sydney will be molested by the dastardly doctor. Kripplor injects Falcon with his serum with dire consequences Falcon begins to change as he bursts from his bonds to become a rampaging monster only to collapse with complete muscle failure and then explode. As the remaining two look at Major Maxim, Kripplor reveals that the Major is in fact the only subject to continually survive the adverse effects of his serum. Abbey and Silicon are now with Agent Zero and the hired boat of Tunaka over the North Atlantic, Eddy still with them. Silicon has brought on board her "sea turtle" an underwater exploration vessel which they intend to use to discover the final piece of the armor. They have the shield (or so they think) but the helmet was taken from them at Eddy's house so this would complete the set. Abbey threatens to quit but is persuaded to see out their mission to prevent Hammer and Major Maxim from achieving their plans. Diving in the sea turte, Abbey and Agent Zero find a sunken Nazi vessel at the bottom of the sea. Inside the belly of the ship, they discover a sword only to be attacked by two Hammer Hydronauts. Silicon moves quickly to secure the sword while Abbey and Zero deal with their attackers. They destroy the first one, but just as it seems they would fall to their watery graves, a giant eel crushes the second one. Safe but not yet back above water, a transmission from on top reveals that the boat has been hijacked by other Hammer agents and none other than Natalia Kassle leading them. It seems that the ring Natalia kindly gave to Abbey was in fact a locator. The sword is lost. Next in part 6, “Dangerous Destinies”, Rising as quickly as the sea turtle possibly can, Abbey Chase and Secret Agent Zero are desperate to come to the aid of their captured colleagues. It seems they are too late as their sunken ship and its captain Tunaka capsize and sink right before their eyes. Upon surfacing, with no sight of Natalia Kassle and Hammer, they search for their fellow agents Silicon Valerie and Eddy Owen and find both on a dingy unscathed. To everyone but Agent Zero's surprise, Duncan arrives commandeering an RAF helicopter to rescue them all. Now in Monaco, Abbey explains to Duncan of the mystical armor of a helmet, shield and sword which will bring its wearer untold powers. Just then, a badly hurt but recovering Deuce makes an appearance and tells the team of his plan to trap Natalia Kassle using the shield as bait. He knew her double agent status all along. Unfortunately, Natalia got what she came for and the Danger Yacht was destroyed. With Sydney Savage and Johnny Barracuda's whereabouts unknown and the location of Hammer's secret base still a mystery, the Danger Girl team are at a loss. Enter Silicon, the techno-wizz, who has tracked the transmissions Abbey's ring (a present from Natalia which doubled as a locator) was transmitting back to its source - Hammer Island. On Hammer Island, Sydney and Johnny have been led before a congregation of 1000s of Hammer agents being addressed by Major Maxim and their decrepit leader, a fallen Nazi general who was tasked with finding these artifacts during the second world war. This general explains how once a group of Angels descended to earth and mated with mortal women to make true Aryan beings he refers to as "Ubermensch". These Ubermensch ruled proud in their time and the greatest of their warriors was awarded the mystic set of armor. The city (supposedly Atlantis) was destroyed and with it all trace of their race and the armor. Natalia Kassle presents the sword to the leader and Sydney and Johnny are taken back to their cells. Meanwhile, Abbey and Zero have made their entrance through the bowels of the island. After splitting up, Abbey heads for Sydney and Johnny while Zero finds where to rig a bomb to blow up the island. As he gets to work, a former Hammer colleague of his, Assassin X, who both shared the same sensei finds and challenges him to fight. Sydney and Johnny plan their escape. Finally in part 7, “Into the Danger Zone”, Abbey Chase heads for the main control room of Hammer Island while Sydney Savage and Johnny Barracuda make their own escape. Abbey uses a disk given to her by Silicon Valerie so Silicon can remotely control Hammer Island's systems and find a structural map of the island. Meanwhile, Secret Agent Zero and Assassin X are battling it out using various styles of combat. Johnny and Sydney fight off guards only to be confronted by none other than Kid Dynamo, now a Nazi officer in the Hammer Empire. Johnny gives Kid Dynamo a huge wedgie and bowls over the other guards with Kid as the bowling ball. Cornered and fearing for their lives, Johnny takes the opportunity to passionately embrace Sydney with a kiss, after all it is their "one last chance for romance". Abbey saves them as they kiss. Abbey, Sydney and Johnny all head above ground to where the entire Hammer army is gathered at a ceremonial site. As Abbey moves towards the site for a closer look, Cain, Abel and Doctor Kharnov Von Kripplor capture Johnny and Sydney. At the ceremonial site, the old Nazi general is given the helmet, shield and sword to no effect, collapsing in the process. Natalia Kassle finds Abbey spying and they face off - knives versus guns. At the ceremony, with the ritual words spoken and still no effects from the armor, the general becomes enraged which triggers the armor's activation and kills many soldiers in the process. A huge white beam of light shoots into the heavens and when it dissipates the Nazi general becomes a herculean figure with cape, flowing locks and all. An innocent troop pledging his allegiance is turned to stone and three other unwitting soldiers are zapped by lightning strikes, such is the power of this mystic armor. The newborn general then exclaims that he has no more use for the Hammer army and resurrects skeletons from beneath the earth who attack everyone indiscriminately. Major Maxim, enraged by this betrayal, begins shooting at the general but to no effect. Abbey tries to persuade Natalia to stop her leader, now possessed by some demon. The warrior general cuts off Major Maxim's arm in the ensuing fight, much to the displeasure of Doctor Khanov Von Kripplor. Johnny and Sydney use the distraction to escape their captors and run away, just as Natalia and Abbey appear in an armored helicopter ready to strike at the general. He shoots a huge stream of fire briefly knocking back the helicopter. Abbey cleverly shoots at the general but only to miss and hit the waterfall above the ceremonial site causing water to burst down the hill. The helmet floats on the surface, no general in sight, their task is complete. However, Natalia takes the opportunity to attack Abbey while still flying the helicopter. Still on the underside of the island, Secret Agent Zero and Assassin X are battling among the flames of the furnaces. Assassin X delivers a strong blow and in flipping backwards to avoid a counterattack hits a galley-way with too much force and it collapses. Zero, not wanting to see his former friend die, grabs and catches Assassin X. Assassin X, rather than submit, slices Zero's rib cage and causes him to drop Assassin X into the flames. Zero notices the bomb timer is broken and escapes not knowing how long the island has left before destruction. Deuce and Silicon arrive on jet-skis to save Johnny and Sydney, while Abbey and Natalia fight it out 100 feet above the ground. As the island is blown into smithereens, Natalia falls out the helicopter and is saved by Abbey only for Abbey to lose her grip and Natalia falls into the engulfing flames. Back on the Danger Yacht Mark II, the Danger Girl team and Agent Zero toast to their success. Secret Agent Zero makes a subtle getaway clutching a photo of Abbey as a child saying, "Looks like you've finally found a good family, Abbey. I'm just sorry I couldn't be a part of it." Major Maxim's body sinks to the bottom of the ocean but not before his strange red eyes flash with life once more. "The End...?" Hardcover reprints/collects: Danger Girl (1998) Issues #1-7.
