Description: This is the first, "Porky Prime Cut" pressing of the first and best Buzzcocks album. Includes a quite rare promo item that was included with some of the first pressing, a grey and orange plastic shopping bag with Buzzcocks logo that says PRODUCT on one side and the catalogue number, UAG30159 on the other. This hardly ever shows up, since original 1978 purchasers like me seem maybe to have tossed it out once they unwrapped the LP. Personally I folded mine up and popped it into the sleeve, so here it still is. (Apparently a much later reissue did include a replica of the bag, but it's easy to tell the original from the facsimile (see DIscogs for full details of this and all the beautiful arcane points of the universe of vinyl). Original all-black stiff custom inner sleeve. This pressing also contains a lead-out and lock groove on side B, a la "Sergeant Pepper," with the trailing beeps and boops of an instrumental re-recording of their original "Boredom" song (first released on an EP called "Spiral Scratch" [as well as done live on the "Live at the Roxy" album]). When the needle arrives at the lock groove, you get the beeps and boops forever, if forever is your choice. I don't know if later pressings had this feature--I hope so, but it may be an artifact of the original mastering. At this point, with perspective on this great band, yes they did make great singles (most easily experienced on the great "Singles Going Steady" compilation--but they also made one great album, and this is the one. This particular copy is in NM- shape: Side 1 vinyl is perfect; Side 2 slightest occasional surface on the silent grooves. Sleeve is NM-, hopefully clearly shown in the photos. The bag is wrinkled but quite sound. I playcheck albums I sell through Stax Lambda headphones that tend to reveal flaws, so you may hear it as NM throughout. Free shipping and insurance.
