Burdock Heirloom Garden Seeds Non-GMO

Description: Common Burdock Heirloom Garden Seeds also are known as "Gobo" in Japan. Burdock root (Arctium lappa) is an incredibly nutritive food and medicine. Burdock has long (1-2'), slender (1"), uniform roots with light-brown skin. Rhubarb-like leaves yield nutritious stalks cooked like celery; young roots are eaten raw or prepared like parsnips. The stickery seeds can be sprouted for fall, winter, and spring harvest and storage. It can be overwintered in soil, much the same as parsnips. Cook like carrots. Delicious in hearty soups and bean stews. Seeds sown in the spring or summer will produce diggable roots by late summer that can be harvested through the winter. Burdock seeds will not germinate without sensing light. Seeds must be barely covered with soil. Keep soil moist. Fertilize as needed. Harvest young and tender leaves. Traditional medicinal plants in Europe, North America, and China used as a remedy for measles, arthritis, tonsillitis, viruses like colds, throat pain, and as a diuretic. Fresh burdock root or the tincture of dried root is taken internally as a treatment for skin complaints. Often combined with dandelion or yellow dock, burdock root is an effective blood purifier used to treat psoriasis, eczema, oily skin, acne, boils, and gout. The leaf may be picked as needed for tea as soon as it reaches sufficient size. Burdock root is extremely nutritious. Scientific research has shown burdock to have powerful anti-tumor properties. 75 days. Pkt Size/Approx. Seeds 0.2 g ~20+ Seeds
