Whitekaolin (early French porcelain) hand painted with aPurple and Yellow Pansy flower motif. Gilt in Goldaround the edge. Made in France. Kaolin is the earliest clay known for usein the manufacture of Limoges porcelain.It is and was considered rare and precious,known as 'White Gold," a key ingredient infine porcelain. Kaolin is indicated by adimpled surface (as seen in last 4 PICs).The last PIC points to a pinhole on the leftand a small Black pinpoint within thekaolin on the right. There is one anothernotable depression within kaolin atleaf tip (as seen in 9th PIC). Wm Guerin-William Guerin(1838-1912) ran a Limoges porcelain factory in Francein the early 1870s. The Greenlooped bracket underglaze markon the back of this rare antique vanity dresser tray encloses the letters"W. G. & Co." with the word "France."This particular hallmark indicates thatthis was made between 1890 and 1900.The company added "Limoges" abovethe bracket hallmark in 1900. Rectangular octagon in shape (8 sides)with a gilt (22 karat Gold) border aroundbeveled edge (perimeter). The gilthas wear due to age (as seen in PICs).This is at least 120-130 years old. Weighs 15.6 ounces. Measurements:6 and 3/8" in width, 7/8" in depth,8 and 1/4" in length. EXCELLENT ANTIQUE CONDITION.Super clean. No damage.No chips.
