Description: AMERICAN FLYER SELLOUT: I am selling my entire life-time collection of American Flyer “S” Gauge items, including: engines [14], rolling stock cars [272], electrically operated train equipment items [many, many],Plasticville and similar layout structures [houses, shops, RR stations, etc.], automatic and manual switches [12 pairs], large and small transformers, train button/knob controls, track sections, and much more. I will continue to list these items on this site a little at a time during October and November of 2024. Each item has my inventory number shown so as to be sure that what you see in the pictures and what you purchase is exactly what I send to you [since I have many duplicates]. CONDITION OF EACH ITEM: I am not an authority on how to grade these items. Thus, I am showing you pictures of everything so that you can decide the condition for yourselves. On the rolling stock cars I have placed“left” [L] and “right” [R] side sticker so that you can be sure you are viewing both sides of each rail car. I will also show a photo of the bottom of each car, and from that you can see the types of trucks and couplers that exist on each car. I do have a Greenberg’s 2023 “American Flyer Pocket Price Guide”, and you will find that I am quite generous in how I price these items vs. what theguide lists for the price of “GOOD” [C-5] graded items. In that book the “GOOD C-5” condition is defined as “shows evidence of heavy use and signs of play ware – small dents, scratches, minor paint loss, and minor surface rust.” I know that most of my cars are in better shape than C-5, but you can decide from the photos for yourselves what the condition is for each item. I will not break up sets that I advertise, as they are already well packed and ready to ship when sold. RETURNS: This item or set of items is RETURNABLE for a refund if you are not pleased with it under the following conditions: You pay the return postage. If the item is received in the SAME condition as it was when I sent it to you [as shown in the photos],I will refund your full payment for the item or set of items, but minus the postage you were charged to ship the item from me to you. Unfortunately, because someone already trieda switch-a-roo scam on me, there is a tiny hidden mark on each item that lets me know if the item you return is really the one that I sent to you. SHIPPING: I will ship to USA addresses only, by USPO mail, with delivery confirmation included so that I know for sure that you received the box. I will send the confirmation number of the shipment to you via e-bay the same day that I ship the box. If youfind damage upon delivery, I ask that you send me a close-up photo of that damage and we will go from there to resolve the issue. I want you to be happy with what you receive. E-bay will keep about 15% of the price for the item(s) that I want from you. They will ALSO keep about 15% of the price that I require for shipping,so I thus ask for a shipping price that is about 15% more than it actually costs to ship the box. A Priority Mail Medium Flat Rate Box currently costs $18.40 to ship, so I will charge$21.00. A Priority Mail Large Flat Rate Box currently cost $24.75 to ship, so I will charge $28.00. These shipping costs are going to put many of we sellers out of business as they keep increasing. Once I list an item or set of items, I packit/them in a box ready for shipment. Thus,I can normally deliver the box to the post office the same day your payment is confirmed, assuming it is during a week day. TRAIN ENGINES: I am selling on e-Bay one or more of these “S” gauge engines [steam types unless noted otherwise]: 283; 285; 290; 302;302AC; 307; 322; 342; 371 [diesel]; 21165; and the 740 hand car. The engines will not be listed until I have listed most of the rolling stock. I need time to check out the engines, as they have been stored away for decades. WHO I AM: I am a life-time collector and operator of these trains with a young son way back when, NOT a dealer of any kind. These items have been in storage for decades. Now that I am retired, and our grandchildren have moved on to their more “adult”toys, I have hopes that these great items will go to good homes and continue to be appreciated as I once did them. As my wife says, “boys and their toys….” All the best, WIL C. of Greensboro, NC
