Henry Hudson explored up the Hudson River to nearby present-day Kinderhook, New York, and then five members of the crew took a small boat onward up the river to the vicinity of present-day Albany, New York, for further exploration. After the years the postcard may show some typical wear, perhaps mostly visible on the backside where there are some small errant markings and spots.
