Description: Not ex-library copies. Dust jackets and slip covers included. Pages are clean and binding is tight. Hardcover volumes 1 and 3. Slipcover for volume 1 has some staining on the side of the Chinese symbols. The slipcase for volume 3 has a fold on the top. Volume 1 dust jacket has tears and folds along the top especially at the spine and on the outside top corners. Some red staining on the inside of the dust jacket at the crease of the folding flaps. Some scuffing on the front and back covers. A small stain on the horizontal textblock near the back cover. Insert titled, "Chief Characters in the Novel and their Relationships" is included. The spine is not connected to the textblock but the front and back endpapers are intact. No loose pages noted. No markings or underlinings or dog-earred pages noted. Volume 2 has no tears and only small creases at the top of the spine and the top of the folding flaps. Some scuffing on the front and back covers. When the book is open there is space between the spine and the textblock. No loose pages. 2 small brown stains on the vertical textblock and some blue marks on the horizontal bottom textblock. The vertical top textblock retains its blue color. A very nice copy that appears little used. For more information, see photos.
